All at sea!

Staff at Three Valleys Water were “all aboard” when a fully working scale model of an R.N.L.I lifeboat ‘sailed’ into their Headquarters in Hatfield last week.

The boat was part of a promotion for the company’s ‘Time to Give Friday’, which is a monthly initiative where a member of staff nominates a charity to dress down for and charges £1 for the privilege.

Karinn Locke, Production Manager chose the R.N.L.I as she and her husband are both members of the Lifeboat Enthusiasts’ Society and built the boat themselves over a period of 18 months.

Karinn said; “I have been involved in the Society for four years and take the boat to local events to help fundraise. Staff at Three Valleys Water have been very generous and we have raised more than £600”.

The R.N.L.I provides a 24 hour on-call search and rescue service around the coast of the UK and Ireland, on the tidal reaches of the River Thames and selected inland waterways. They also provide a seasonal lifeguard service on beaches and volunteers assist with rescues during floods.
