Eau' – what a great day!

French Students from Harrow’s twin town Douai visited Three Valleys Water this week to find out how water goes from source to tap.

The young people who are water management students were accompanied by Harrow’s Mayor Mayor, Councillor Jean Lammiman, as well as John Hinkley and Jenny Mintoft from ‘Harrow in Europe’.

Mick Jackman, Production Manager at Three Valleys Water said: “We were very pleased to host this visit by the London Borough of Harrow. The students who had a particular interest in water, were able to learn a lot about the water treatment process.”

Back in France the town of Douai is supplied with water from our parent company, Veolia Water, so it is good for them to see the comparisons.

They also enjoyed a visit to the Environment and Education Centre which works with over 20,000 school children every year to promote an understanding of the water industry, the water cycle and why water is precious.

During the visit, the Mayor spent some time with students from Woodfield School in Kingsbury, who have been creating a sustainable garden at the Centre as part of their work experience programme.
