Staff raise funds for Herts Young Homeless Group
Geoff Rhodes, Network Manager at Three Valleys Water handed over a cheque for £322 to Herts Young Homeless Group’s Crashpad Mediation Scheme. The amount was raised by staff who dressed down for a day to collect money for this worthy cause.
Geoff and his wife provide welcome shelter for young teenagers for up to 21 days, who have had to leave their parental homes on a temporary basis, while mediation is offered to the young person and their family, with the aim for the young person to return to the family home, when appropriate. Geoff and his wife are one of 14 families in Hertfordshire who open their doors to vulnerable young people.
Emma McColne, Crashpad Officer at the Herts Young Homeless Group said; “This donation from staff at Three Valleys Water is really welcome, particularly as one of their employees is himself a volunteer.”
With the main office in Hatfield, Herts Young Homeless Group has projects throughout the county providing information and support for young homeless people.
