Helping the Forces

The need to provide support for those that have served their country in the armed forces is growing ever greater. That’s why the Mayor of Bracknell, Councillor Mrs Gill Birch was pleased to accept a donation of £500 from local water company Three Valleys Water for her chosen charity, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help.

Councillor Mrs Gill Birch, who is supporting the local branch of SSAFA (Wokingham & Bracknell) handed over the cheque to John Eves, Honoraray Secretary of the Berkshire Branch.

John said; ” The organisation is the leading national charity committed to helping and supporting those who serve in our Armed Forces, those who used to serve, and the families of both.  We provide a reliable, caring and trusted service to more than 50,000 people in the UK each year.

Our professionally trained staff and network of volunteers provide practical and financial assistance, emotional support and a wide range of services to ensure that SSAFA Forces Help makes a real difference wherever there is a need and whenever anybody turns to us for help.”

Councillor Mrs Gill Birch added;”We value support from local business supporting our community and thank Three Valleys Water for their contribution.”
