We cater for all Key Stages 1-4, "A"
level and Further Education. We can adapt
our activities to suit particular needs.

activities are on offer at Piccotts End Pumping
Station?

Piccotts End is constantly developing and
adapting its activities to suit visiting groups.
At present the most popular choices for school
groups are: Pumping Station Tours, River Surveys
(width and depth) and River Pollution Surveys;
although if you have something specific in
mind, please contact
us - we will do our best to arrange
it.
Q How
long do most schools stay for?
A
At present schools only stay at Piccotts End
for half a day (around 3 hours) and combine
this trip with a visit to the Environment
and Education Centre in Bushey.
Q What
is the largest group size that you will allow?
A
At present, Piccotts End can accommodate up
to one class (i.e. 34 children).
Q Are
the Centre staff first-aid trained?
A
There is always a qualified first aider available
when a group is on site and staff carry first
aid kits on all activities.
Q What
should the children wear?
A
Sensible clothes and flat shoes. Wellies are
essential if doing river work. Some schools
compromise with school uniform on the top
half and old trousers on the bottom half.
Waterproof coat and hat.
Q Is Piccotts
End only available for school groups?
A
No. Although schools form our main client
base. For further information please contact
us.
Q Do I
need to bring any equipment for the day?
A
All equipment will be provided. If you are
not bringing clipboards and pencils with you,
please let us know in advance so that we can
organise this.
