Rickmansworth Canal and Environment Festival
The largest annual event held at the Lock is the Rickmansworth Canal Festival, which can attract up to 15,000 visitors. The festival is held over a weekend in May and serves two functions, firstly as a fundraiser for the Trust and secondly as a celebration of the Rickmansworth and Batchworth communities.
During the festival many of the old traditional narrowboats moor up bringing with them music, exhibitions and entertainment. There are many stalls around the site and a fair. This year the historic narrowboat, "Roger" was launched. "Roger" will play a major part in the educational programme as well as being an exhibition centre and a training ship for youth crews delivering commercial cargoes.
