A Gateway to the Countryside
Aldenham Country Park - owned and managed by Hertfordshire County Council - was created on green belt land in 1971 as an area for quiet countryside recreation. Its 175 acres of woodland, parkland and open water provide the perfect setting for a great day out for everyone.
Fun facilities including picnic areas, an adventure playground and a toddlers' play area, make it ideal for families. Children and adults alike will enjoy a visit to Winnie-the-Pooh's "100 Aker Wood" with the homes of Pooh Bear, Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore and Owl - all recreated at the Park in association with the Disney Corporation.
Education
Aldenham Country Park with all its facilities, is an excellent place to visit with a school party. There are investigation sheets available about the park, the farm and the woodland area, to enable staff to structure the visit and make the most of their time at Aldenham. The sheets are linked to the National Curriculum and links are also made to the literacy and numeracy hour.
The staff at Aldenham will help you around the park and provide valuable data and background information.
There are toilet facilities and a classroom for use in wet weather! There are toilet facilities for people with disabilities.
It's well worth finding out about.
