Citizenship

Giving children the context in which to explore their role as a citizen, in respect of issues wider than those of the school community can be difficult. The environment can offer many opportunities for children to discuss global issues and find local solutions. Four aspects of PSHE and Citizenship which can be addressed through environmental study are the:
development of confidence and responsibility
preparation for the role as an active citizen
development of a healthy, safe lifestyle
development of good relationships and respect of differences
Our Education Team emphasise the fact that children can make a difference by their actions, that the actions of an individual can add up to a major force for change and that "think global, act local" is the best way of making a difference.
