Q9. Do I have to pay for water if the property is unoccupied for any length of time?

We may disconnect your water supply and cancel your water services charges if the property becomes unoccupied for any length of time. There may be a reconnection charge when the supply is required again.

In addition, if you require a water supply for minimal use, such as central heating, we can bill you for standing charges only, for a maximum period of six months. If the property remains unoccupied after this period, full unmetered charges would be payable or you might like to request to have a meter installed.

If a metered property is unoccupied and the water supply remains connected, we will bill you for the standing charges and any water that is used.
