Q2. How are water service bills calculated?

Your water bill is for two separate services:
1. Your water supply.
2. Your wastewater removal. If you have a water meter, your water services bill will have the following elements:
Water supply:
1. A fixed 'standing charge' for your water supply
2. A charge for the amount of water you use (metered customers) OR a variable charge calculated using the rateable value of your premises (unmetered customers).
Wastewater removal services:
3. A 'standing charge' for your wastewater removal by Thames Water or Anglian Water.
4. A charge from Thames Water or Anglian Water for your wastewater removal which is calculated using either the rateable value of your premises or the amount of water you use.
We collect charges on behalf of Thames Water and Anglian Water.
